We are Claymore die mittelalterliche Schaukampfgruppe e. V. (Claymore, the medieval exhibition-fighting group) from the Freising area and the Chiemgau in Bavaria. We portray Normans of the year 1066 – the time of the Battle of Hastings.
We provide exhibition fighting, fire spectacles, camp life and many different medieval activities of that time. We realise all this at medieval markets and historical festivals, travelling all over the country – and further – and employing our swords for gold.
The Knights’ Fighting Show
The noble knights dress up in their shining armour. Full of pugnacity they compete to prove their courage to the audience. Here you can marvel at spectacular fights with all kinds of weapons – swords, shields, axes, spears, clubs and sharp tongues.
The Fire Show
Prometheus might have stolen the fire from the gods – but he could surely still learn a thing or two from us. We amaze the audience with whirling fire poi, sparkling showers, rotating fire staffs and fights with burning weapons in front of our fire-proof backdrop. Dress warmly – for we shall set the air ablaze.
The Camp
In our camp – equipped with tents, a campfire hearth and our banquet table – we can sustain ourselves for quite some time. We practise our battle skills and juggling, are versed in diverse crafts and, apart from a boisterous drinking culture, also display all kinds of everyday medieval tasks.
